Siracusa and Ortigia – half day, morning
to discover a priceless heritage of art masterpieces

The Greek Theatre, dated to the 5th century b.C., is still used for performances of the fascinating Classical plays. During the tour we’ll visit even the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie, and the well-known Orecchio di Dionisio,that’s an artificial cave just inside the area of the ancient limestone quarry Latomia del Paradiso.
Then we move to Ortigia, Island, the historical centre of Siracusa which has got several priceless fortunes to treasure. We can see the ruins of Apollo ‘s Temple, the most ancient Doric temple in all Sicily, later we’ll arrive in Piazza Duomo its unique Cathedral is built on the Athena’s Greek temple, it dominates all the historical centre. Of course you’ll have some free time to enjoy and discover this dreamy islet, where the past and the history meet in a way modern times.
Recommended clothing: walking shoes, hat and water.
